eTutor was established by Dr. Martha Angulo in 1997 to apply her rich experience in education to the newly discovered power of the internet. The school now rests on a foundation over a decade in the making:
- 1997 e-Tutor, Inc. is formed in Chicago, IL and launches e-Tutor
- 2000 e-Tutor, Inc. raises venture capital funding and hires over 25 employees
- 2001 e-Tutor, Inc. downsizes drastically after the technology bubble bursts
- 2004 e-Tutor, Inc. is dissolved; Knowledge Headquarters, Inc. is formed and relaunches e-Tutor Virtual Learning
- 2005 e-Tutor Virtual Learning receives accreditation
- 2008 Knowledge Headquarters, Inc. is relocated to Boulder, CO
