![]() EAST RAIL TRAIN (P-2)by e-Tutor This lesson has 9 parts. Follow the railroad crossing sign and let it guide you through the lesson. Welcome to the fast-paced world of trains! Lesson ProblemHow can I use what I know about numbers to put a train together?
VocabularyStudy GuideEastern Rail is building a new Super Train that will carry passengers and freight. You will help Eastern Rail build the train. Read the guidelines below. Then draw a picture of the train on a separate piece of paper. The train must meet the guidelines. Label each train car. When you have designed the train, answer the questions on the Activity Page.
The order of numbers will help you design your train. You also need to know which numbers are odd and which are even. All numbers that can be divided by two are even. This includes: 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10. All of the other numbers are not divisble by two and are called odd numbers. These include: 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9.
Guidelines for the Super Train * The train must have a total of 10 cars (the engine does not count as one of the ten). * The first car in the train is a passenger lounge. * The fourth car must be a dining car. * Four cars must be freight and baggage cars. * The third car is a sleeper car. * The passenger cars must be the odd-numbered cars. ActivitiesAnswer the following: 1. What kind of car is the second car in the train? 2. What kind of car is the last car in the train? 3. What kind of car will the fifth car be? 4. How many dining cars are in the train? 5. What kind of car is the fourth car? 6. How many passenger cars are there? Extended LearningMake up new guidelines for different trains. Draw the results of your guidelines.
