Reading - Writing - Listening - Literature

Listening

Students will be able to listen critically and analytically.

Objectives

  • Understand and evaluate the meaning of spoken messages.
  • Distinguish among different purposes in communication.
  • Identify differing perspectives and points of view.

e-Tutor provides some excerpts for listening to different forms of communication, but the main purpose of the listening area of the Language Arts curriculum is for the student to identify and replicate different meanings from spoken words.

At the Primary Grades students learn from rhymes, in the Intermediate, Middle/Junior High and High School Grades students listen to the expression in music.
